But unfortunately, this does Two Things:
One, It does not Take Into Account the Effects of the Various Foods We Eat on our Hormonal Systems.
It is Universal Knowledge that Insulin is the Fat-Storage Promoting Hormone.
Yet, Every ‘Diet’ and ‘Dietary Recommendation’ tells us to eat More Carbohydrates (Whole Grains, Bread, Pasta, etc.) and Less Protein and Fat.
Carbohydrates are broken down to Glucose in our bodies. Having High Glucose in the Blood is TOXIC, which is why Insulin is secreted. This Removes the Glucose from the Blood Stream and stored in the Fat Cells for later use.[headline_tahoma_small_left color=”#000000″]BUT. . .[/headline_tahoma_small_left]
Since Insulin remains elevated for longer, that fat cannot be used, and you start feeling hungry again in about 2 – 3 hours after a meal. You’ve probably experienced this ‘mid-morning’ or ‘mid-afternoon’ crash after having cereal for breakfast or a high carbohydrate meal like sandwich or rice for lunch.
Two, It makes us feel guilty and makes us feel like we are lazy, gluttonous slobs, that don’t do anything, but eat all day.
That myth leads us on to the second of the big myths,[headline_tahoma_small_left color=”#000000″]Myth #2: You Have to Eat 5 – 6 Meals Everyday to Lose Fat[/headline_tahoma_small_left]
This is a Huge Myth, which has no scientific proof at all. But, this myth has been spread by the Food and Supplement companies, that stand to gain, by selling you more of their artificial ‘Food Replacements’ and Snacks.
It has been scientifically proved in various studies that there is no difference in metabolism between having 2 – 3 meals a day or having 5 – 6 meals a day.[headline_tahoma_small_left color=”#000000″]BUT. . .[/headline_tahoma_small_left]
If you follow the logic from Myth #1, having 5 – 6 meals keeps the Insulin Levels high, throughout the day, and this means that the body cannot use the energy stored in the fat cells and you continue to store more fat. This Myth, I believe, is the biggest cause of the present Obesity Epidemic.
The rates of Obesity have climbed significantly since the early 1960’s. This myth has been ingrained in us by industries that have vested interest in keeping us Fat, Sick and Tired.
You see, in removing Fat from foods, it has been replaced with Sugar to give it taste and get us addicted to it.
This sugar in turn stimulates the secretion of Insulin and turn on the Fat Storage Mechanism.
You may have seen some early weight loss with low-calorie Diets, but in most, if not all cases, you would have put back on the weight you lost and some more.
This is because your bodies are very clever and start adapting to it by slowing down your metabolism.
